New Cat!

So, I was out at the farm taking care of Ruby, and when I went to grab her hay out of the main trough and put in in her personal feed trough, I saw a cat laying down in the hay, shivering cold, and desperately trying to stay warm. She started meowing, which attracted the attention of the two springer spaniels. They immediately were trying to jump on the hay to get at her, and she had to run to the top of the stack of hay bales to escape from them. Mind you, the hay bales stack about 8 feet tall. I shooed the dogs off, and grabbed a thick leather hide glove and cimbed up to go get her. The glove was just in case she was a legitimate farm cat and tried clawing or biting, because those things can be mean as fuck. Sydney (one of the spaniels) broke his way back into the barn and took a flying leap to get on one of the bales, and climbed his way up to the top. The poor cat had to get up into the rafters to get away from him. I had to climb up on the very top bale--talk about sketchy as fuck! That whole pile was wobbling!-- to yank her off the rafters. She had her claws dug into the wood pretty damn deep. I was kinda worried that she might attack to get away, but I was wrong. As soon as I had her in my arms and tucked her into my coat, she starting purring and nuzzling her head into me. I knew I couldn't leave her out there, so I took her to the car and we left. I knew Eric wasn't going to be too happy with me either, but he would just have to deal.
Once I got her home and got her introduced to Cabela and Sergeant, I gave her some food. I actually had to pick her up and stop her a couple times, because she was eating so fast I was beginning to worry if it was too much for her stomach to handle. She is about the same size as Cabela, but she was about 1/3 of her weight at the time. She was severely dehydrated as well. She is doing wonderful now! She's a very loveable cat, and I think she'll love me forever for saving her life.

Kitty claws, barn doors, and lost pictures

We finally clipped Cabela's claws yesterday. And when I say "we" I mean "me". I guess Eric helped a little. He held her down after she wormed her way out of my grasp. A little too late to save the furniture though. The armrests on the couches are trashed. And they're leather, so there's not a whole lot we can do to save them. Not to mention we were tired of the fact that she has some odd obsession with attacking our toes in the middle of the night. I must admit, it's pretty funny to watch her try to climb up stuff now. She just slides right off. Earlier today she was laying on the headrest of the recliner, and I went to sit up rather quickly, and I forgot she didn't have the sharp claws needed to stabilize herself, and she got catapulted off. No pun intended. Haha.

JIM FIXED THE BARN DOORS!!! Wooo! Super excited! What really stuns me is that we haven't gotten ANY snow yet. Well, except for that VERY light little dappling we got awhile ago. It melted as soon as it hit the ground, so I don't count it. But hey, that's alright by me. Oddly enough, it just stopped raining a minute or two ago. There were even little hail stones in there! Strange.

And....I think I lost my ultrasound pictures. :(. I can't find them anywhere! I'll have to really start tearing the house up. Maybe I accidentally put them in the office with all the bills. I hope so. I wanted to show them off.

Wish me luck!

EXCITING NEWS

Me and Eric are going to have a baby!! We've known for awhile now, but I just never get around to posting anything on here anymore it seems. lol. I am about 9 weeks and a few days along. We had an ultrasound on Thursday, and we heard its heartbeat! I cied I was so happy. Eric just got a great big proud-papa smile on his face. I've heard people say that the higher the heart rate, the more likely chance of it being a girl. Which I hope is not true. lol. Its heartbeat was 176 beats per minute, so if that saying is true, it will most likely be a girl. I WANT A BOY SO BAD. Whatever we end up with will be fine though. But there's no harm in hoping for a boy. hahah. In the end, as long as it is healthy, I will be happy.

My sister and my neice came up for Halloween this year! It was SO good to see them! I didn't do much for Halloween, simply because I can't drink now. lol. That sounds kind of pathetic, huh. Haha.

I'll make sure to get to Eric's parents house and get the ultrasound pictures scanned onto the computer and post it for you guys to see :)

Oh! And the barn doors will hopefully get fixed soon. As long as it's before the first big snowstorm, I'm happy. We already got the whole winter's supply of hay already, so that's out of the way at least.

But I've got to get going, I've got lots to do today.
Catcha later!

The not-so-daily dish.

I GOT A KITTEN!!!!! I just thought I would express my rediculous happiness and get it out of the way right away. Her mother was hit by a car, and a friend of mine scooped her up. She couldn't keep her, and I was DESPERATELY wanting a kitten. So she is mine now. Her name is Cabela, and I've never met a cuter, funnier kitten in my life. AND SHE KNOWS HOW TO USE A LITTER BOX. Win all around, if I do say so myself. The only downside is the fact that I have a subconcious habit of shaking my foot, and she thinks it is an invitation to unleash holy hell on my little piggies.

So the job at Pacsun is going well. The only problem is the fact that I am getting absolute SHIT for hours. 2 days a week is all I have been working lately. Laaammme. Especially because they are only 5 hour shifts. So I am out looking for another, or possibly completely different, job. Uggghh.

My friend Mike if going to be moving in with me and Eric this weekend. So that is a relief. It will be much easier for the 3 of us to pay for the place instead of just me and Eric. Who knows, we might actually be able to afford CABLE! ....And a new stove. But cable first. I have priorities. Regular season football has officially kicked off, and I missed my Chiefs play their first game because Monday Night Football is on ESPN. Laaamme.

Oh, and just for the record, I consider myself a hero to amphibians of all kinds. I saved this MASSIVE toad from the jaws of Lyle and Sydney a few days ago. Being they are springer spaniels, they have this irrisistable urge to kill anything that moves. Sad. But anywhoser, I was in the barn brushing Ruby when I noticed the dogs were going after something in the tall portion of the grass. So I tied Ruby up and went out to take a look, only to find this HUGE fucking toad laying there belly up, puffed out and pretending to be dead. I shooed the dogs off and picked him up. He was bleeding decently, so I scooped him up and brought him to the water trough and poured some water on him to wash the blood off and see where he was bleeding from. It was from his mouth. I don't know if it was internal bleeding, or if he just had a puncture wound somewhere in his mouth, but either way as soon as I started washing him up and petting him, he was slowly starting to get more and more active. I brought him to the backyard, which is fenced in so the devil dogs couldn't get him, mind you, and set him down on the ground. He sat there for a couple seconds and then hopped off underneath the fence and out into the bean field. So I am assuming he was relatively fine, and felt like I had done a very good deed for the day :)

Ooh, forgot to mention that Cabela also has some weird obsession with walking ALL over the keyboard, occasionally laying down right on top of my hands. Like what just happened a few seconds ago. Also, Sergeant, Eric's german shepherd, is going in for surgery on Thursday to fix his knee. He basically tore his ACL and generally fucked his shit up. It's a $2000 surgery, and his uncle was kind enough to pay for it in full. Thank God there's still good people out there.

It's time I get to bed. Night night :)

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!

Well, I had my first day at Pacsun (Pacific Sunwear. It's a clothing store in the mall) on Monday. I have a feeling I'm going to LOVE working there. I also got a call back from RCC (a western store in the mall), and I would absolutely LOVE working there, too... So I decided to take both jobs! I couldn't resist. They both have very fun, easygoing work environments, they are in the same mall, and, most importantly, I NEED THE MONEY! Not to mention I get a hell of a discount from both places. Momma needs a new pair of boots! Haha. And this time I'm gonna be buying some mink oil, too! My last pair of boots got ruined so quick, it's sad.

Now, I'm just sitting here, browsing the internet for kittens :)! I want one so bad, but Eric doesn't think it would be such a good idea. He's mainly worried about how Sargeant (our 110 lb. German Shepherd) hurting it unintentionally. Not to mention the cost of kitty litter and all that junk. But have no fear, I'll convince him one way or another :)

Evenin!

You can thank my neighbors for this post; I'm stealing their wi-fi right now :)

So sorry I haven't been able to post anything lately. Me and Eric got our own place a couple months back (can't remember if I posted anything about it or not), and all my money and time has been going into the house and the bills. We just put new hardwood floors in the spare bedroom. They look spectacular! We are eventually going to have all of the floors hardwood, but we can't do it all at once with the budget we are on.

Lemme tell you what, these past couple weekends have been INSANE. In a good way :)
Two weeks ago, me and Eric drove 5 hours (would have been four and a half if Eric didn't miss the exit, and then make it seem like he planned to skip it to go to McDonals. I call bullshit on that one) down to see my sister Sabrina and her husband Tyler. We left the next morning and went boating down the river for two days, doing nothing but soaking up the sun and slamming down beers. The only bad part about the trip was the fucking mosquitos. Holy balls! I swore to god we chose the most insect-infested river bank possible. Hahha. But at least I can look back and laugh at it now. Friday--or was it Saturday?? Anyway, whichever night it was, I went up to Hartford to help my friend Ashley celebrate her 5 year anniversary at the salon she works at. The salon was also celebrating it's 20th year of business. Long story short, I was wayyyy fucking smashed. I know this because I got up and SANG KARAOKE. I NEVER sing karaoke. I was a dancing, singing machine!!! Some creepy old fuck kept tring to buy me a drink, and I had to literally shove him off. Ughh gross. But I had a good time and ended up crashing in a tent with Ashley and this guy Kyle I met at the bar. Don't worry, he's just a buddy. Haha. We all went inside Wendy's house (our tent was in her backyard) to get some pizza, and Ashley ended up passing out on the couch. So me and Kyle went back and laid in the tent for awhile. We were getting eaten up something fierce! So we ended up leaving and driving back to Sioux Falls. I was sober enough, thank god.

Jarid came out to work on Ruby's hooves again. They're looking alot better this time around. They were reallllyy flat before, which is why she was in so much pain when I would ride her on gravel. I felt so bad when I first found out. He's coming back out on the 29th of September to do more work. Hopefully I have a saddle by then. Jesus. Anyone want to donate??

Hey ya'll

Sorry I haven't gotten a chance to post anything lately. I haven't had much time to get out with Ruby this week. My boyfriend Eric bought a house and I've been helping him move in. I did get to stop out yesterday though. I noticed that Sydney finally got the tumor removed from his right leg. It was benign to begin with, but they figured they would get it removed. I dunno what happened, but I looked at it to see how the healing was coming, and his stitches were ripped wide open. I tried calling Jill to let her know, but she didn't answer. I'm gonna try again tonight. That's about it for now. Gotta head back over to Eric's and clean things up a bit. I'll take some pictures and post them on here as soon as I can.

On the road again,
Rheanon.
